Better Than "___" Dessert

Layer One

1 c. flour
1/2 c. Margarine or butter, softened
1/2 c. chopped pecans or almonds

Mix flour and margarine well. Press mixture into bottom of 9×13 glass baking dish. Sprinkle with nuts and bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Let cool.

Layer Two

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2  large container Cool Whip
1 c. powdered sugar

Mix ingredients until creamy and spread over crust.

Layer Three

2 small packages instant pudding (any flavor)
2 1/2  c. milk

Mix pudding and milk together until thick. Spread over layer two.

Layer Four

1/2 large container Cool Whip
1 Hershey’s bar, shaved

Spread remaining Cool Whip on top of pudding. Shave Hershey’s bar over the top before serving.

Brownie Version

1 8×8 box brownie mix
All ingredients for original recipe
2 tsp. instant coffee, disolved in 2 T. hot water, divided

Layer one: Bake 8×8 brownie mix in 9×13 pan, shorten the baking time to 15-18 minutes. Layer Two: Same as original recipe except add 1 tsp. instant coffee dissolved in 1 T. hot water. Layer Three: Same as original recipe except add 1 tsp. instant coffee dissolved in 1 T. hot water. Layer Four: Same as original recipe.
