Cherry Chocolate Cake (Mary)
1 box chocolate cake mix
20 oz. cherry pie filling
2 eggs
2 tsp. almond extract
1 tub chocolate frosting
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 pan with nonstick spray. In a large bowl empty box of cake mix. Break up any lumps with a fork; add can of cherry pie filling. Crack two eggs into the can that the cherries were in and beat well with a fork. Add to pie filling and cake mix. Add almond extract. Mix well with a spoon. Pour into prepared pan and bake 25 to 30 min or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Let cake cool and then frost. If you like, you can add a teaspoon of almond extract to the frosting.
