Creeping Crust Cobbler

1/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 c. fruit (peaches, cherries, raspberries, mixed berries, etc.)
1 c. sugar (or less)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray sides of a 10 inch baking dish. Melt butter in dish. In mixing bowl, combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and milk; mix well.  Spoon over melted butter in baking dish. Heat fresh or canned fruit with sugar (adjust to less sugar if using canned). Pour over dough in pan.  Bake in oven for about 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Crust will rise to the top of cobbler.  Serve warm, (or cold, if you can wait that long!) Awesome warm with vanilla ice cream.  Enjoy!
