1 packet Cranberry Walnut Dip Mix (available at Adrians)
1 box yellow cake mix
1/4 cup Craisins (optional)
2 – 20 oz cans crushed pineapple (drain 1 can)
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup chopped walnuts, almonds or pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with Pam. Pour the 2 cans of crushed pineapple (remember to drain one can) into the dish and top with entire packet of Cranberry Walnut Dip mix and Craisins if desired. Mix with a fork. Sprinkle entire box of yellow cake mix over pineapple mixture and smooth out evenly. Cut butter into thin slices and evenly distribute over the top of the dry cake mix. Top with chopped nuts. Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes. When ready to serve, top with ice cream or whipped cream. Great served either warm or cold! Super easy dessert for the holidays.
Variations: Substitute Honey Apple Pecan (top with pecans) or Ambrosia Dip Mix (top with almonds) for the Cranberry Walnut. All are absolutely delicious!
