Honey Apple Pecan Wine Cake
This cake has been so popular at Adrians…It is easy to make and is so moist and tasty! We bake it in a 12 cup size Bundt pan for a beautiful presentation, but you can make it in a 9 x 13 as well. If you happen to own a smaller Bundt pan, fill pan about 2/3 full and bake the rest of the batter in a mini loaf pan. Enjoy!
Cake Base:
1 packet Country Home Creations Honey Apple Pecan Dip Mix (Available at Adrians)
1/2 c. hot water
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 pkg. (2-4 oz) vanilla instant pudding mix
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. cooking oil
4 eggs
1/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. white wine
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Add 1/2 cup of hot water to packet of Honey Apple Pecan Dip Mix. Stir with fork; let set 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Generously grease and flour a tube or bundt pan (12 cup). Combine ingredients for cake base; mix 4 to 5 minutes. Add Honey Apple Pecan Dip and water mixture; stir well to mix. Pour into pan. Bake 50-60 minutes. Do toothpick test to ensure it is done.
Glaze mixture: *NOTE…I use only about half of this glaze recipe per cake…but wanted to give you the original recipe…just use your own judgement. ~Vicki
Glaze:
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup white wine
Place first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to boil and boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Take off of heat after 3 minutes and add 1/4 cup white wine. Slowly pour half over cake (in pan) when taken out of the oven. Let set for 15-20 minutes. Invert cake onto plate; Pour the rest of the glaze over the cake. Cool. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
