14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
2 T. butter
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix sweetened condensed milk, butter, chocolate chips and vanilla. Put in a double boiler sand melt. (The fragrance of this chocolate mixture is AMAZING!) Mix rest of ingredients separately. Pack 2/3 of mixture in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour melted chocolate mixture over that. Drop rest of flour and oatmeal mixture crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned on the top. DELICIOUS!

Does one use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet? Also, what kind of oatmeal should we use – old-fashioned or quick oats?
Hi Debbie… As someone who lives out in the country, I have learned to use whatever is available! I do prefer semi-sweet chips personally, and as for the oatmeal, I am an old-fashioned kind of girl, so that is all I keep on hand unless we need for a specific recipe. This is a delicious recipe! Thank you for your comments! Vicki
