Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter
1 c. flour
2 c. sugar, divided
pinch of salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 qt. peaches, sliced
ice cream for topping

Melt butter in a 9×13 pan.  Cool to lukewarm.  Sift together flour, 1 cup of the sugar, pinch of salt and 2 tsp baking powder.  Add 1 cup of milk and mix until smooth.  Pour batter over melted and cooled butter.  Sweeten peaches (including  juice) with remaining 1 cup of sugar.  Place peaches over batter.  Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve warm with ice cream.  Delicious!!!
