Salted Peanut Chews

Base

1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus yellow cake mix
1/3 c. oleo
1 egg
3 c. miniature marshmallows
Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all base ingredients except marshmallows and chocolate chips. Mix at low speed till crumbly. Press in bottom of slightly greased 13×9 pan. Bake at 350 for 12-18 minutes or till light brown. Remove from oven and sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven 3-4 minutes, until they begin to puff. Remove. Sprinkle with chocolate chips if desired. Cool while preparing topping.

Topping

2/3 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. oleo
2 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. butterschotch chips
2 c. Rice Krispies
2 c. Peanuts

Heat corn syrup, oleo, vanilla, and chips just until mixture is melted. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal and nuts. Immediately spoon over marshmallows. Spread to cover. Chill. Cut into bars. Store covered.
