Saucy Apple Swirl Cake

1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (pudding style)
15 oz. jar applesauce
 3 eggs
chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease & flour 12 cup fluted tube (bundt), or 10″ tube pan. In small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, & nuts; set aside. In large bowl, blend cake mix , applesauce, & eggs until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Pour half the batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with all of sugar mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Bake at 350° for 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan (upright) for 25 minutes. Invert to serving plate. Cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar.
