1 box German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. bag caramels, unwrapped
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. margarine
1 c. nuts, divided
1 c. chocolate chips
Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour half the batter into a greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. While cake is baking, melt caramels, margarine and milk in a saucepan over low heat stirring constantly. Pour over partially baked batter. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and 1/2 c. nuts. Pour remaining batter over this mixture, and sprinkle top with remaining 1/2 c. nuts. Bake 20 minutes longer or until done.
