Southern Sweet Tea

4 cups water, freshly drawn
4 Family size Tea Bags (we used both Luzianne & Liptons)
pinch of baking soda
2 cups white sugar
10 cups additional freshly drawn water

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in saucepan.  Add teabags and sugar and stir until sugar is well dissolved.  Remove from heat.  Let steep for 5 minutes.  Remove teabags and be sure to press out all of the tea with the back of a spoon.  Add a pinch of baking soda.  This keeps the tea from getting cloudy and bitter.  Pour into a one gallon pitcher.  Add remaining water and ice to fill the pitcher.

*Note:  I have never been a SWEET TEA kind of gal, but after spending a week in Nashville, Tennessee, it was sweet tea or nothing!  It really is good and refreshing! Perfect for a hot summer day.
